Conference Background
Higher education systems across Asia have undergone remarkable expansion and transformation, moving from the periphery toward greater visibility and influence in global knowledge production. As we approach the mid-21st century, universities face converging pressures: geopolitical shifts, demographic transitions, sustainability imperatives, and rapid digital change.
In this changing global context, Asian higher education is not only “catching up” but also exploring distinctive pathways and contributing new models to global dialogue—while navigating innovation-driven talent development and the ethical responsibilities raised by emerging technologies such as Generative AI.
Conference Subthemes
We welcome theoretical contributions, empirical research, and policy analyses aligned with the overarching theme. While the conference has a primary focus on Asia, submissions that extend beyond the Asian context and offer comparative or broader global perspectives are also warmly welcome.
- Higher Education and Sustainable Development: Asian Pathways and Contributions
- Policy Dialogues and Regional Cooperation: Building an Asian Higher Education Community
- Doctoral Education and Innovation-Driven Talent Development: Evolving Asian Models
- Digital Transformation and Tech Ethics: Future-Readiness of Asian Universities
- Higher Education Transformation in a Changing World: Global Perspectives and Comparative Insights
